There are many resources available for seniors. The page below contains links to various sites. Some focus on caregivers, but most focus on seniors. Everything from activities for seniors, to volunteering.

Books and CDs to Enjoy Together

One of the things I learned during my Make Mom Happy By Mail Campaign is how much my mom loved to read. She was a voracious reader and would often devour the books I sent in a single day. Over the years she read almost every book I read, which led to rich conversations about favorite characters, places, values, ideas, and hopes.

I have compiled a list of some of the books we shared under the categories below. Even if your loved one is not an avid reader like my mom, they might still enjoy some of these titles in an audio book format.

  1. Light Mysteries with Senior Heroes or Heroines
  2. A Humorous Look at Aging
  3. Books About Famous People
  4. Especially for Dads
  5. Especially for Moms
  6. Other Interesting Books
  7. Books About WWII
  8. Books for Caregivers
  9. For Caregivers of Seniors with Dementia
  10. Books for Dealing with Difficult Relationships

Mail and Delivery Services

Obviously, I also relied a lot on the postal service, as well as UPS and FedEx, to make sure my notes, letters, and packages made it to my mom. Below are the links to each of their sites.
